Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
May 13, 2008

In Attendance: Michael Brogna, Michelle Clark, Richard O’Connor, Pamela Hamel (Administration Assistant)

Mike called the meeting to order at 7:02pm and read the appointments, announcements, and selectmen’s meeting minutes of May 06, 2008 to the audience. Mike made a motion to accept the minutes as written, Rich 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
The Board received a letter from David and Shirley Leone asking that they reconsider their decision to have the Leones seek a special exception for the 5 cabins they would like to construct at Buck N Horse Campground. This letter was forwarded to the town attorney and a response received. After reviewing the response Mike made a motion to have the attorney send the response as written to the Leones, Michelle 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Mike made a motion to table signing the MS-5 until next week so they can review it, Michelle 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Mike read a letter from the GRC requesting use of the Town House on Saturday, May 31, 2008, to hold a Spring Fling Dance. Mike made a motion to allow the GRC to use the Town House for their dance, Rich 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Rich made a motion to sign the Ronchetti Report of Cut, Michelle 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Rich made a motion to sign the Engel Report of Cut, Michelle 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Mike made a motion to pass the DOT road map verification onto the Road Agent for final review, Michelle 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Rich made a motion to sign the North Country Council assurance agreement, Michelle 2nd, all in favor, so voted. Rich asked that a copy of this go to the Planning Board.
The Board reviewed the All-Ways Accessible elevator maintenance quote. Mike made a motion to table this until they can do further review, Rich 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Mike made a motion to table the 1-2-3 Lock yearly maintenance quote until they can do further review, Rich 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
Mike read the Newfound Community request for a volunteer to coordinate the Household Hazardous Waste Day. Pam will post the request and contact information at the Town House and Transfer station.
Mike read the Newfound Lake Region Association’s carpooling request to the audience. For more information, please contact the Selectmen’s office.
At this time, the Town will not be renting a dumpster for construction debris. Anyone who needs to dispose of construction debris will need to rent their own dumpster or contact a neighboring municipality that is accepting debris.
Questions and comments were taken from the audience.
Jackie Brogna gave an update on the Fishing Derby. Fifty-seven children came to the derby which is twice as many as last year. Forty-six caught fish. The child who caught the tagged fish received a $50 savings bond.
Mike made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:48pm, Rich 2nd, all in favor, so voted.
